MY LAST SUMMER

Hi! My name is Helena and now I'm talking about my last summer.

Last summer I spent my time between Banyoles and Estartit. When the classes ended In July I was in Banyoles. The last week of July and the first three of August I was in an apartment in Estartit.

Banyoles

Every morning I got up at eleven, I had breakfast, I watched TV and I did the book for summer. At half pas one I went to lunch at my grandmother's house. At five I was with my friends to swim. At nine I was already home for dinner.

Estartit

Every morning we got up and had breakfast. So I went to the beach with my friends Xènia and Jana and my sister Mireia. We were a minute walk from the beach and then we went to the pool. The three arrived at the apartment and had lunch on the terrace. In the afternoon, we often had a nap. After the nap we went to the pool and the beach. Usually I had dinner at a restaurant in Estartit. Some nights we went to parties.

Bye, thanks for your attention.

GLOBAL WARMING

1. What is global warming?

Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans.

2. What is the process involved in the greenhouse effect?

The ''greenhouse effect'' is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse.

3. What signs warn us about global warming?

In the Artic there aren't much glaciers and the temperature change and became hot because there aren't many capes in the atmosphere.

4. Watch the video and explain: global warming, panic or reality?

5. What can we do stop global warming?  Suggest five ideas.

-  Not use both the car
-  Not to throw garbage on the street.
-  No waste.
-  Find new energy sources.
-  Create less pollution

WRITING UNIT 9

Hi

My name's  Helena Feliu and I live in Banyoles in Spain. I like the area, so I want to improve it.

In my opinion there is no film and no water park. As a result, a lot of people have to go to Girona.

I think the Council should do something.

It's great to be a dog in New York

New Yorkers adore their dogs and love making them happy. So what do the dogs think?

-Hello there! Did you know there are about 78 million dogs in the USA? The lucky* dogs like me live in New York. New Yorkers adore dogs.
There are 600,000 of us in the city..and I've got to say we have the best of everyting.

My master ans I
Many of our owners* are single* and they treat* us like their children. Walking* a dog is also a good way* to make new friends! Parks in the city have "dog runs*", where we can run and play. But many New Yorkers employ* dog-sitters or take us to dog day* care centres.

Man's best friend
New Yorkers spend $1,350 a year on their dog, but some owners* spend much more...even in these bad economic times. For some of us - the rich ones in Manhattan - it's normal to stay* in nice dog hotels. We realli are "man0s best friend"!
